Expeditions are a primary form of artistic practice and research. They are sequences of activities arranged according to a scenario: travelling, meeting people, exercises, rehearsals, presentations of actors work, performances and Gatherings.
... The Expedition is to be an artistic practice, theatrical practice distributed over time, measured in days and nights, and in the space measured in kilometres (...) it must have an initial scenario ( ...) but in its implementation one has to be open and ready for immediate response to any new events. (...) Expedition is a creative improvisation, it can be a work of art.
The character of the Expeditions changed over the years . Initially, these were multi-day hiking expeditions to the villages in Eastern Poland, then evolved towards expeditions abroad, often lasting some weeks.
Each trip must have its constellation, a group of proven people, capable of fulfilling tasks posed on them. Creating a constellation of people is also one of the goals of Expeditions. From the beginning, the Expeditions involved scientists, in addition to the artists of GARDZIENICE and those invited and the students.
