CyberWill is an innovative multimedia performance, inspired by the works of Shakespeare. It combines various cultural motifs while tackling the theme of clowning. In the performance, classical Shakespearean texts are blended with the tradition of dance improvisation and the latest technologies. The creators explore the potential of the tool known as ChatGPT to be an actor, collaborator, as well as the main subject of the performance. The show brings together two opposing realities: the word generator and the movement generator. The tangible physicality of the dancers is juxtaposed with the intangibility of the AI. The audience chooses the narrative they want to follow.
The title refers to Shakespeare’s Cymbeline – a play the experts cannot agree upon whether it’s a comedy or a drama (one doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry). Moreover, it’s rumoured that William didn’t write this play alone, but with a colleague. And thirdly – it makes no sense.
Do not expect logic, but just a bit of algebra, a solid dose of artificial intelligence and quite a lot of natural, 100% biodegradable silliness. After all, the future is certain, great is the Fool of this world, and the most famous skull in the history of theatre belonged to the Jester.
And on a serious note, the show is an attempt to touch upon the most vital questions on the human condition in today’s world XD.
