Gallery “Gardzienice” operates at the Centre for Theatre Practices “Gardzienice” since 1997.

The main exhibition space is located in a maze of cellars at 5a Grodzka Street in Lublin (in the Old Town).

Multimedia exhibitions are also held in the palace and park complex in Gardzienice.

In 2000-2004, Monika Kubat was the curator of  the exhibitions at the Gallery “Gardzienice”.

Later the Gallery collaborated with, among others, Katarzyna Porczak and Krzysztof Bartnik.

Since 2008, Zuzanna Zubek-Gańska is a curator of the exhibitions.

The artist uses the term ‘Citizen’s Low’ to describe the state of human consciousness, attitude, behaviour, fitting the cognitive ways of value recognition. The ‘Citizen’s Low’ includes in its definition the narratives contained in the paintings created by Michał Minor in the years 2011 – 2013.

The exhibition “Fragile? / Kruche?”.

The exhibition consisted of the works by four artists: Alicja Kupiec, Oliwia Beszczyńska, Sigrid Espelien (Norway), Petro Svoboda (Australia), which tackled the topic of cups, teeth, insulators and toilets, proving that China has many faces, although in the art its delicate, elusive character seems to dominate. The exhibition was organized with the Sławomir Toman’s Open Workshop.

Exhibition of drawings by Piotr Kmieć entitled “the Nature of Nature”

The exhibition b entitled “the Nature of Nature” is a compilation of two cycles of drawing created in the 80s, and inspired by the wildlife of park in Nałęczów. This exhibition – which is also the result of the search of the Artist in the matter of archetypal forms, a kind of sacred geometry – can be treated at the same time as an annex to the retrospective presentation of his painting, which was shown in 2013 in the Lublin Museum at the Castle and Krakow’s Palace of Arts.
