Włodzimierz Staniewski has been invited as the special guest to the Fajr International Theater Festival, where he is scheduled to direct Poland’s “Gardzienice” Theater Company in PYTHIAN ORATORY.
The production was staged six times at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall: January 23, 24, 25 (two performances per day).
The program of the visit also included:
master-classes and workshops on theatre practices led by Mariusz Gołaj and the actors of the “Gardzienice” Theatre Company, including a lecture given by Włodziemierz Staniewski;
a seminar on Włodzimierz Staniewski’s work with the participation of artists and academics (Teatre-Shahr);
an art and research expedition to the regions with a living traditional culture; the aim of the expedition is to prepare documentation for a film titled IPHIGENIA IN PERSIA, which will start to be made in spring 2014.
