A musical spectacle of the theatres “Gardzienice” from Poland and “Stella Polaris” from Norway
A musical spectacle of the theatres “Gardzienice” from Poland and “Stella Polaris” from Norway:
LOVE AND CONTEMPT, PEACE AND WAR
The story of Świętosława – Mieszko’s daughter and Olaf – Tryggve’s son
and about the 10th century, when a new world was being born
The ‘Practicing History’ project centres around the joint work of artists from Poland (‘Gardzienice’ Theatre) and Norway (Theatre ‘Stella Polaris’) on a performance whose idea refers to the history of the beginnings of origins of both countries and the myths underlying their cultures and the ‘common places’ in their culture. The concept of a joint new production refers to Polish-Slavic and Norwegian mythology (Vikings) in the period of the formation of Christianity in Poland and Norway.
The rites of the Middle Ages, encounters between Vikings and Slavs, the formation of the identity of Europe and countenances of nations, the times of the great male and female rulers, crazy warriors and magnificent women.
