Threepenny Opera By Berthold Brecht, Kurt Weil and Elisabeth Hauptmann
Based on a translation by John Willett and Ralph Manheim.
“Here hangs Macheath who never wronged a flea!”
The Threepenny Opera tells the story of Macheath (aka Mac the knife). A murderous cutthroat, thief and arsonist (Allegedly). A man who has friends in high places and a special way with the ladies (we all know one of those don’t we ladies and gentlemen). A man who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to get what he wants (he manages to keep them looking clean though).
Join us for a new take on the perennial classic that revolutionised musical theatre as we know it today.
