In response to the articles published in “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Dwutygodnik” on October 6th, we, the artistic, administrative, and technical crew of the “Gardzienice” Theatre, firmly stand against the ongoing smear campaign that targets Włodzimierz Staniewski. This campaign aims, in our view, to undermine the artistic achievements of Staniewski and the “Gardzienice” Theatre as well as to devalue 43 years of the theatrical work – our work.
Concerning the radio programme aired on TOK FM on October 6th which featured voices urging to suspend Włodzimierz Staniewski from his position as the Director of the Theatre, we assert that he ought to continue leading the Centre for Theatre Practices “Gardzienice” as it has been unceasingly since its foundation in 1977.
